Operational Backend Dashboard Modernization for Multi-Brand Fitness Applications

Backend EngineeringInternal ToolingPlatform Operations

Executive Summary

Kulkul Technology partnered with the team behind the 7 Minute Workout fitness app to address a critical operational need: a centralized administrative dashboard that enables efficient media and content management across multiple branded fitness applications listed on app marketplaces. The existing ecosystem lacked a unified panel for uploading images, videos, and other assets, creating bottlenecks for internal teams. Kulkul delivered a backend solution that significantly improved administrator usability by designing and building a presentable, functional dashboard optimized for rapid internal workflows.

The team leveraged Retool to accelerate development through low-code interface construction, integrated a PostgreSQL database to support structured data handling, and used Node.js to ensure backend performance and scalability. The engagement spanned approximately four months, concluded with no revision requests from the client, and transitioned ongoing maintenance responsibilities to the 7 Minute Workout development team. The end result is a robust internal tool that streamlines content operations for a multi-brand fitness application portfolio, improving administrative efficiency and reducing operational friction.

The Challenge

Essentially, the 7 minute workout team created a fitness app, and they did it in collaboration with several brands, such as yoga chest, and with hundreds of app listings, all of which originated in Hong Kong. They require a centralized administration panel to handle these applications, such as the ability to upload images, movies, and other media. Finally, the same kulkul created the improved version , which is more a more presentable  Dashboard for the administration panel.

Our Approach

Kulkul Technology built the dashboard panel using Retool, which allows us to brings the internal tools, remarkably fast with its low-code development. We also Ude PostgreSQL the open source database and use NodeJS as well.

The Solution

The project took about 4 months to complete, and there are no requests for revisions. and the maintenance has been taken up by teams of 7 minute workout development team.
